On December 25th 1914 truces between British and German soldiers took place up and down the frontline. Amongst all those truces a tiny part was football, with at most 30 men from either side playing anywhere along the front.

The evidence there is shows that men of 16th Infanterie Regiment on the German side, and 1/6th Cheshires and 1st Norfolks on the British side, had a small, informal kick about with a black rubber ball not far from Wulverghem in Belgium.

This series remembers all the units that took part in that kick about.
